Two people were hospitalized after six vehicles were involved in a collision on Highway 79 near Sunshine Summit, west of Warner Springs, authorities said.
The crash was reported shortly before 8:30 p.m., said Cal Fire San Diego.
Several people were injured with two receiving moderate to major injuries, Cal Fire said on Twitter. One of the patients was taken to the hospital by ambulance while the second was transported by air ambulance.
No information about the patients was released.
Photos from the scene showed one car on its side while another vehicle had extensive front-end damage.
No further details were immediately available.
