Exploring Ethics: Despite the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion in health research, too many investigators face challenges in recruiting diverse study participants. Using current examples, we will highlight some of those challenges and the implications for interpreting and applying results. This presentation will also explore how community-engaged research can address these deficits and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in health research. Guest Speaker Jessie Nodora, PhD, Associate Professor in the UC San Diego Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health & Human Longevity Science and a member of the Moores UC San Diego Cancer Center and Director of Community Engagement with the UC San Diego Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute.
