Beyond Prison Walls – Saturday, April 24, 2021, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Enjoy short plays and conversation with alumni of Playwrights Project’s Out of the Yard program sharing the successes, challenges and even hilarity of returning home after incarceration. Each performance is unique and features 2-3 short plays performed by San Diego State University Theatre students. Featured scripts were written by participants in Out of the Yard programs at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility, Centinela State Prison, Male Community Reentry Program, and the Returned Writers Circle. Each performance will be followed by a talkback with the returned writers. Recommended for ages 14+; this event is free and open to the public, however tickets are required.
