Sierra Club Sierra Talks – The Utah-Arizona Wilderness Bucksin Gulch/Paria Canyon: Utah’s Wirepass Trailhead, winds 13 miles through Buckskin Gulch where the walls are sometimes only a couple of feet apart and soar hundreds of feet overhead. It is one of the longest and deepest slot canyons in the world. Wavy sandstone walls twist their way to the sky creating surreal patterns of light. The hike-tour follows the Paria river and ends at Lee’s Ferry where the river empties into the Colorado river.
