Two men injured in Point Loma Heights crash

Two men were hospitalized with injuries from a crash in the Point Loma Heights neighborhood shortly after midnight Saturday.

An 18-year-old man was speeding southbound on Worden Street when he struck another car turning into the intersection from Polack Avenue, San Diego police Officer Tony Martinez said. The driver of that car, a 30-year-old man, had been traveling eastbound on Polack and had stopped at a stop sign before turning left on Worden, police said.

After the collision, one of the vehicles struck five other vehicles parked on the street. The teen driver sustained a lacerated liver, and his front seat passenger, a man in his 20s, was also injured with a fractured femur on his left leg. Both were transported to hospitals, Martinez said. The 30-year-old driver suffered scrapes and bruises and didn’t require hospitalization, he said.
