SDTWS Founders Will Host Panel to Honor International Women’s Day

San Diego Tech Women’s Summit, an organization that celebrates the region’s diverse woman leaders in technology each year, will host a “Choose to Challenge” panel on Mar. 8, 2021.

Honoring International Women’s Day, the event will involve a dynamic discussion respective to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) workforce resources to co-create an inclusive and high-impact ecosystem.

The event is a strategic collaboration and combined effort of several San Diego-based advocacy organizations including Athena, Black Tech Link, Design Spaces, Girls in Tech SD, #LatinaGeeks, and Women Who Code SD. Technology leaders from Intuit, Sony PlayStation, and Qualcomm are also involved.

This year, the International Women’s Day theme is focused on forging a gender-equal world, raising awareness on pervasive gender biases and actions to advance equality.

The global pandemic’s effects are especially challenging for women in the workforce. Women are losing jobs at a higher rate than men with women accounting for all of the 140,000 national job losses, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics December report.

The panel will be held virtually on March 8, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

Attendees also will have the opportunity to experience an intimate breakout networking session following the panel.
