$25 to adopt a dog or cat at San Diego Humane Society this weekend

From Friday through Sunday, folks can adopt an adult dog or cat 7 months and older from the San Diego Humane Society for $25.

The reduced adoption fees this weekend are part of Bissell Pet Foundation’s summer 2021 “Empty the Shelters” adoption promotional event, which the San Diego Humane Society is participating in.

Since the Empty the Shelters event started in 2016 as an effort to encourage more families to adopt a pet, the foundation has expanded the adoption promotion to 45 states across the country and in Canada, partnering with 414 shelters.

This summer’s goal is to find homes for 4,000 pets waiting at the participating shelters.

Participating San Diego Humane Society shelters include:

San Diego Humane Society, Escondido Campus, 3500 Burnet Drive, hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. (619) 299-7012 or sdhumane.org.

San Diego Humane Society, North Campus, 2905 San Luis Rey Road, Oceanside, hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. (619) 299-7012 or sdhumane.org.
