“THE BIG SLEEP” (1946. 114 minutes.) Humphrey Bogart is properly steely as detective Philip Marlowe in Raymond Chandler’s racy whodunit. Bogey tries to sort out the guilty parties when he is hired by a decadent millionaire to save his spoiled daughters (Lauren Bacall and Martha Vickers). Cinema Under The Stars is an intimate outdoor movie theater in Mission Hills, directly behind Tops Salon, featuring comfortable zero-gravity reclining chairs and cozy cabana love seats for two, a 20 foot screen, digital screen projection, and THX Dolby sound system. Admission: $17 (members); $18 (non-members); $20 (with online reservations). The box office opens at 6 p.m. and the film begins at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 7 p.m. on Sunday. Online Reservations begin Monday at 9 a.m. for members, and Tuesday at 9 a.m. for non-members. All concessions are $2 each, including freshly-popped popcorn, an assortment of candy, and hot and cold beverages. Seats have been rearranged to follow the current health requirements.
